The u9 Red team started their campaign in the top division with a tough set of games against Broadford Rovers.

One team started slowly, going 3-0 down in their first game but produced a great comeback in the second half to draw level before suffering a narrow loss. Marc was a dynamo in midfield, popping up with tackles and battling throughout and opening the scoring for Park Celtic. Danny never stopped running and read the game well, stopping a lot of Broadford counter attacks along with Sam, who was like a wall at the back with some really tough tackling. Louis was driving forward each time he got the ball and had some great runs in amongst the opposition. Harry D had a great game and was brilliant during his stint in goals, pulling off some super saves. Harry W was a constant menace with some great dribbling, passing and added the second goal. He was also unlucky not to add another goal to his tally with a super shot that was very well saved by the Broadford keeper.

In their next game, they battled well with Sam almost unbeatable at the back, Harry W and James attacking really well Danny providing great cover and non-stop running. Marc again opened the scoring before rounding the keeper and laying the ball back to Adam, who added the second. Broadford kept attacking and Sam, Danny and Louis were superb in containing them. With the match almost over Marc smashed in a goal in the dying seconds to secure a draw.

The second team had 2 well-fought wins. Some superb passing and a lot of quick thinking proved too good for Broadford. Some brilliant passing between Michael and Aaron split their defence. Adam was unstoppable in front of goal as was Luca and Harry D. It was the strong defensive display between Aidan and Jack that sealed the wins.

It’s great to see the work being done in training coming through.
