On a glorious Saturday morning the U11’s lined up for a friendly game with Esker Celtic.  It turned out to be a tough game against a physically stronger side.  The first 10 minutes was all Esker but Park managed to defend well with Ellen & Cian getting in plenty of tackles.  After that Park settled into their stride but unfortunately got caught on the hop once too often and despite having a couple of chances finished the first half three goals down. The half time score line reflected the fact that their keeper made numerous saves some of which Park should have scored.
The second half started well with Park forcing an own goal which we will claim as Josh’s goal.  Park continued to play well after this and following some good passing moves set up Josh for a strike which he played excellently to get his second goal and bring the game to 2 – 3.  After this the ball seemed to bounce the right way for Esker and this along with some good play led to them scoring 3 more without reply.  Despite the scoreline Park kept battling and forced a free.  Harry stepped up to take it and with a great strike scored Park’s third goal.  Esker came back with a couple more goals before the final whistle was blown.
Overall a difficult game but Park showed grit and determination to keep battling.
