A fantastic first game of the season with the lads coming from behind to claim a narrow 9-8 win against a very good Belmont side.

Plenty of goals and good passing moves from both sides saw Park move into a 3 goal lead with Darragh and Ben dominating the wings and providing some great crosses for their team.

Belmont played their way into the game but we took a 6-4 advantage into the break.

It would have been closer but for some wonderful saves from Ciaran. One, in particular, was world-class as he tipped a strong shot over the bar.

Tiredness seemed to settle in during the second half and within a blink of an eye, we were suddenly trailing 8-6 and wondering what happened.

But the engine room kicked back into action again and we took control with Jack making some great midfield bursts but we struggled to beat the keeper.

With time running out we did manage to finally beat their keeper to make it 8-7 to them. And in the closing stages, Brian popped up with an equaliser which was well deserved.

We all thought that was it done and dusted but later on midfield general Jack coolly slotted a low shot into the corner of the net after a great run from Darragh again to lead with only minutes to go.

Cool heads and resolute defending from Callum and Lewis kept the score like that till the end to what was a wonderful game to watch and admire.

There were two men of the match which go to Conor and Brian for stepping up to the plate when we were in the hour of need. Thanks for the support from everybody today.
