U 11 E had a tough away game against a very strong Castleknock Celtic side.

The 8-2 loss doesn’t do justice as it really was a game of 2 halves.

Even with heroic defending from Aarush, Jack, Charlie and Serban, we were on the back foot from the very beginning. Going down 4 nil within a matter of minutes.
Dylan got a goal back but half time couldn’t come fast enough and we ended the 1st half 7-1 down.

Regrouping and taking stock of our gameplay at half time paid off. Tighter man-marking made sure Castleknock had less of the ball and allowed Park Celtic to play.

William and Yash pressured the opposition and a goal finally arrived after prolonged possession by Park Celtic. It came from good passing play between Mateusz and Jamie and ended up with Finn beating 2 players and finding the back of the net.

With only moments to go, Castleknock scored the last goal of the game and the final result was 8-2.

Well done to Castleknock Celtic who have a skilful passing team that have given us lessons to learn that will make us stronger for the next match.

Man of the match: Jack Cunningham.
