On a wet and very early Sunday morning, the U10 B team took to the drenched pitches of Knocklyon United.
It was a good start to the game with some lovely build-up play between defenders Callum, Charlie and midfield anchor Ryan and despite hard work from striker Dylan who hassled and created space with some good running, the Knocklyon defence held strong.
Knocklyon managed to create very few chances for themselves in the first half and a strong Liam in goal kept them at bay with some fine saves. Knocklyon managed to score a braze, which was quickly cut by a nice goal by Morgan, who was finding spaces on the wing and was there to score when needed.
Knocklyon got another goal just before half time.
Park Celtic came out in the 2nd half all guns blazing and created chance after chance, with some nice work in midfield by Matthew, searing runs by Ben on the wing, who once again also showed his versatility as a defender for parts of the match, and Jamie trying his hardest upfront.
It was a barrage of shots and finally Jamie scored a goal, quickly followed 33 by another Morgan goal.
Park then laid siege to the Knocklyon goal and on another day this match could have finished with more goals for Park Celtic but it wasn’t meant to be today.
It must have been the early start that got the shooting vision out of focus, but the team showed great strength and power to come back and level the match. So this week: shooting practice! 🙂
