U10B1 Sat team suffered a late defeat after having dominated most of the game against a strong Templeogue team.
The final result (4-6) was in contradiction with the fact that Park was leaving 4-1 up to the middle of the second half and then suddenly the energy finished like it happened in the previous game against a very physically strong Templeogue team who had the luxury of 3 subs while Park had 1.
The first half saw Park finished 3-1 up showing great football with a lot of good moves and 3 magnificent goals scored in sequence by Tommaso, Taelan and Gavin. The latter was an incredible goal scored from a very difficult angle into the top corner following a great pass from Tommaso.
The defence played in gladiator-style with Patrick and Finn conceding very little to a strong Templeogue forward and Daniel dictated the tempo in the middle of the field.
The second half opened with another great solo goal from Gavin who was merciless in front of the goalie and then Park started to suffer the pressure from Templeogue as tiredness kicked in. 5 goal in sequence scored by Templeogue including 2 unstoppable shots from distance, 1 very disputable penalty and 2 avoidable goals ended the match.
Park had few chances to equalize with Gavin and Daniel but with no luck.
Fair play to Tim and Ethan who played in goal following Nathan’s absence.
Some of the boys were in tears at the end but coaches and parents were very proud of the efforts made today.
MVPs were Finn and Patrick in the first half and Gavin in the second.
Better days are ahead for sure!
