For the 2nd week in a row, Park beat A1 team 6-1, this time against Castleknock at home. Despite the high winds, Park played some brilliant football throughout, and their rock-solid defence (namely Ciarán, Callum and Lewis) were very unlucky not to keep a clean sheet.

Park were unstoppable in the first half, with the wind behind them. They scored 4 goals, with 2 neat finishes from Matthew, another from Daire, and a lovely left-foot finish by from the edge of the box. Castleknock didn’t get a sniff, with Lewis “Van Dijk” Doyle everywhere at the back, and starting off our attacks with incisive passes.

The 2nd half was more even, as Castleknock used the wind advantage. However, Ciarán was very calm in goal making a number of saves and catches, and his distribution was excellent, setting off our counter-attacks. Despite playing against the wind, Park still won the 2nd half 2-1, with a lucky finish by Ben from a tight angle, and Matthew sealing his hat trick, with a simple finish after a brilliant mazy run by Daire.

6-1 was a fair reflection of Park’s dominance. Man of the match had to be shared today with Lewis’s excellent defensive performance, matching Matthews clinical hat trick.
