What a come back for the U10B1 Saturday team against Granada!
Park was playing an away league match against Granada this Saturday and with an incredible resilience and team’s spirit the boys turned around the match after being down 4-1 in the first half.
Park started well producing a stunning goal from Finn with a long-range shot into the top corner and some fine attacking actions with Gavin, Daniel and Taelan involved. But lack of accuracy in front of the keeper, playing uphill on an uneven pitch and against strong wind limited Park’s scoreline. Granada on the contrary showing good forwards and helped by the wind scored 2 goals quite easily without giving to Alex a chance and added 2 extra goals due to poor marking.
However, the story changed in the second half with Daniel absolutely brilliant in managing the traffic in the middle of the pitch and distributing remarkable passing. Park scored a brilliant goal with Ethan who played the keeper fool following an assist from Tommaso and then with Daniel well-positioned and reactive to put the ball in goal after a great attacking pressure made by Park.
Then Finn once again decided that today should have been Park’s day and with another great shot from distance and a few minutes before the end intercepting a beautiful cross from Gavin scoring the winning goal. But Park’s defence with Tim, Alex and “gladiator” Patrick did a great job in keeping Park’s goal scoreless and Tommaso and Taelan helped out to keep the pressure on Granada’s defence with some fine counterattacking actions.
Mvp today is Daniel with a special mention for Finn and Tim. But overall the coach was impressed by the team’s spirit and the fact the boys did not give up after the first half. Brilliant stuff!”
